| I am fascinated by what occurs between the time the mind conjures or the eye sees and the hand sets it down on the canvas or paper. Communicating a story, philosophy, emotion or impression by creating a single image...and making it beautiful, is what I strive for as an artist. It is not easy. I am often afraid I cannot manifest the art I have inside me. When I start a painting, I am both fearless and anxious. Somewhere into it I am swept away and feel my psyche, my heart, my guts and my hand all working together. When I am painting, I am in a world no one else can enter. When I have completed the painting, that world is opened to whomever wants to enter. more about the artist |
